TPC HX seal for Compact Flanges
We are very proud to be a provider of innovative solutions to the Oil & Gas industry. Our new seal for Compact Flanges, TPC HX, has had its breakthrough order. Kværner has chosen the seal for a number of connections at Shell’s Nyhamna site at Aukra.
The solution is as simple as it is brilliant, all information is available in the Norsok Standard L001 and the dimensional standard L005. The Norsok flanges IX solution has sealing grooves with an angle on only one side, with a sealing capacity for internal pressure. This makes the seal vulnerable for warping, with our HX solution the ring has two supported sides which means warping is no longer possible. This is created by simply making an identical angle on the other side of the seal groove.
We would like to thank Kværner for their order and Shell for their approval of this solution and hope that in the future many more companies will experience the benefits of using Compact Flanges with our HX solution.
