<span style="vertical-align: inherit;">In the last week of September 2022, Sandvik Coromant hosted Tech Days, an annual event where the world's leading manufacturing companies come together to share ideas for the industry. This year's Tech Days was the first after a two-year hiatus and proved to be among the most successful. The event gathered over 600 visitors and eighteen partners at the Sandvik Coromant center in Sandviken in Sweden, where the event was held. </span>

<span style="vertical-align: inherit;">Tech Days concentrated on two main topics regarding the manufacturing industry: Digitization and sustainability. Both of these topics were explored through panel discussions in order to get a thorough elucidation of the topic. Working sustainably in the manufacturing industry With these words, Camilla ​ Nevstad Bruzelius ​, head of Sustainable Enterprise and Erik Jansson, Sales Cluster Manager Nordic, welcomed on behalf of Sandvik Coromant.</span>

<span style="vertical-align: inherit;"> "Sustainability has gone from being something that was talked about as a slogan to something that all companies are engaged in. We meet customers and companies that are already very active and others that have just started working on what is needed to get started sustainable production. It's been a big shift," Jansson said.</span>

<span style="vertical-align: inherit;"> Bruzelius agreed and continued: "There is enormous pressure on the industry to deliver in terms of sustainability. When we talk to customers, we see that their first priority is to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions to get rid of landfills and work further to achieve circular production.”</span>

<span style="vertical-align: inherit;"> The manufacturing industry of the future, a panel discussion about digitization with Helen Blomqvist, CEO of Sandvik Coromant and Tomas Frimmel, CEO of Microsoft Sweden, was also very fruitful.</span>

<span style="vertical-align: inherit;"> "When we refer to the skills gap in the industry, it is obviously related to the digitization that needs to be carried out," Frimmel said when asked about the most important conclusions from the panel. "91% of all industries are digitizing, but only 6% have completed the process. We know that there is a skills gap here, and that within a year and a half there will be 70,000 fewer employees in the tech industry. "</span>

<span style="vertical-align: inherit;"> Blomqvist agreed that collaboration will be the key to tackling the challenges of digitalisation. "Our vision at Sandvik Coromant is to shape the future of production together, and we cannot shape the future without collaborating with other important players in the industry, such as through our partnership with Microsoft."</span>

<span style="vertical-align: inherit;"> In addition to panel discussions, each day there were 23 different seminars, held by the various partners, plus machine demonstrations for ten machines at the Sandvik Coromant centre, and these provided first-hand presentations of the latest technology in metal cutting and machining. This included CoroMill ® Dura, a new range of high-quality, versatile solid end mills, launched in October 2022.</span>

<span style="vertical-align: inherit;"> CoroMill ® Dura uses WhisperKut ™ technology. This technology means that each groove has a different helix angle, and that each angle of the cutting edge has a different distance to each other, thus ensuring good stability without vibration. The range is available from two to seven grooves with 1-4xD cutting length.</span>
